Every woman deep down wishes for a knight to protect and rescue her. Derek is a perfect knight. And Krissy is a strong woman despite her need for someone to support her. She can stand up for herself.
Phoenix creates complex and interesting characters. She builds a sweet, passionate and deep relationship between Derek and Krissy, albeit a quick one. They are soulmates. Phoenix unveils the evil nature of James and his flunkies. And she adds some characters who still have heroic, decent hearts to help along the way.
Since this is an erotic novel, I must warn those under 18 years old to avoid it. The scenes were sizzling and tasteful. Phoenix composes beautiful, touching moments as we learn more of the characters’ pasts.
I enjoyed this story and recommend it to those who enjoy erotic paranormal romances. Phoenix gives the reader an unforgettable story!

I love her characters; they are perfect for this fast moving, ever changing story. Have I mentioned that there is a cliff hanger? No? Oh, well there is but I didn't fall too far and there is room for you next to me on the hillside. Thank you, Phoenix Johnson for the great, I loved it.

Leader of the Pack is the third and final instalment of The Wolf Smitten Series by new author, Phoenix Johnson. Her talent and imagination continue to shine brightly in this riveting continuation of Derek and Krissy's story. Johnson was a fledgling new author when I read her first published release, The Wolf in the Neighborhood. I was fortunate enough to have received a complimentary copy of her first published book in exchange for a review and I must say, I was surprised and impressed with her ability and unique style. A year later, I received a complimentary copy of the second book of the series, Once Bitten, Twice Shy in exchange for an honest review and again, I was impressed by her talent but I was even more amazed by the improvement in her skill and the quality of her work. I watched and waited for news of her next book and now, eleven months later, she has just released Leader of the Pack, the conclusion of the series and this one, I eagerly purchased myself. And Johnson did not disappoint. The book is exciting, imaginative, fast-paced, well-crafted and well edited. The narrative is extremely well written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view as told by our two protagonists. The dialogue is smart, well executed and flows beautifully. Throughout the series, the characters have been captivating, engaging, endearing, sexy and well developed. The story grabbed my attention immediately but the hero and heroine totally captured my heart. Johnson did a wonderful job of combining these elements into a deliciously sweet, seriously sexy and delightfully entertaining paranormal romance.

Facing such a staggering decision, the couple decides to escape the city for a camping trip to the mountains for a much needed break which hopefully will give Derek the clarity he needs in order to make his choice but once again, danger awaits our two lovers in the forest. An unexpected attack leads to another crisis and now Krissy's life may be at risk. Will Krissy survive her injuries and if so, how will it affect her future with Derek? Will Derek finally learn to accept his life or will he choose to destroy his wolf, thereby possibly destroying himself in the process? Will Krissy lose her man...um...wolf or will they finally be able to find their happily-ever-after with each other? We'll see! Oh my! Exciting! Well Written! Smart! Compelling! Riveting! Suspenseful! Romantic! Sexy! Was there anything about this book I didn't like? Not really, although I did feel that the ending was a wee bit rushed. I would have loved for it to have been a little longer and more detailed. There was so much potential for further development of the story. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Would I recommend this book to a friend? You bet! Great work Phoenix Johnson! I loved it!

She wandered away from writing for a few years, but was soon encouraged to return and, within months of picking up the proverbial pen, Phoenix' first story, The Wolf In The Neighborhood, was accepted for publication by Naughty Nights Press. While working on the rest of the Wolf Smitten Trilogy, Phoenix decided to take on a university degree, and is now in the final stretch of her Bachelor of Art's degree in Professional Writing and Publishing, with plans to continue on to her Master's degree.
In early 2015, Phoenix was thrilled to discover she'd made two Top 5 lists with three entries in the Easychair Bookstore Awards.
