Promo Monday with BLMorticia and Rawiya

This week, The Naughty Pages is hosting an interview between BLMorticia and Rawiya, so sit back and enjoy while they talk about the yummy series Something New On The Menu!

Something New on the Menu Series
BLMorticia and Rawiya

BL: Greetings. Welcome to another post from the muses of Sharita Lira. Today, were posting about the about the series were doing together through Naughty Nights Press, Something New on the Menu.

Rawiya: We’re very excited that Gina and her team have allowed us to do it too. The brilliant thing about this collection is each story is a standalone with different characters, backgrounds, and situations, but they all follow a common theme: M/M romance and the Food &Restaurant Industry.

BL: Hot stories about men in love with treats to boot. Why wouldn’t you want to read that? The series began in November with my book, Something Fresh Served Hot. It’s about a homophobe, Jimmy LaCosta who thinks he knows it all about gay men but when he meets his boss, Alex Seidling, he is quickly put in his place. As expected, the book is filled with snark and hot sex. Looks like the readers like it too since it received a Silver Star on All Romance Books.

Rawiya: It’s an awesome story and a fitting beginning to this collection. Moving along to my book, Time to Make the Donuts, the main character Christopher is a lonely shop owner looking for love. He works hard to keep the donut store he inherited running and ignores his personal life in the process. However, a man comes into his life to change things and during the story, he finds out secrets about Andre that might stand in the way of their happiness. Will it? You have to read to find out. It also received a star on All Romance and is top ten on the NNP list at ARe.

BL: Those are just two of the stories in this series. There are 3 more contracted to come out in the early part of the year. My story Candyman is book 4. A possible sixth book, tentatively called, The Salad Bar is also in the works.

Rawiya: And my tales Smooth Like Latte and Sugar Daddy are books 3 and 5 respectively. I’m very excited about these stories and look forward to sharing them with readers. Hopefully you’ll find this series to be quite entertaining and will check it out.

BL: The collection has laughs, manlove, and food. How can you go wrong? Watch for it this year!

Here now is a little from the first book, Something Fresh Served Hot and Rawiya’s book Time to Make the Donuts as well as a blurb for Smooth Like Latte.

Review of Ray Sostre's The Girl Upstairs

Scrolling down to start reading The Girl Upstairs, I came across the dedications and I am touched at how many people have encouraged Ray to write. The names mentioned, as well as the excerpt I read recently, had me extremely eager to get in to this review.

Ray paints an intriguing picture, and pulls the drape back one corner and a time, just enough to keep me reading, enjoying and savouring each titbit of information.

In most books today, the speech between the characters is ‘proper’ speech; grammatically correct and not a heap of slang or shortened words. I love it like that myself, but the speech Ray allows his characters, being more casual and ‘normal’ is just as enjoyable. It allowed me to get a real feel for the characters. The playful banter is natural and cheeky and I found myself grinning over it on more than one occasion.

I particularly enjoyed the aural voyeurism at the end of the first chapter; Ray has a real grip on realistic details and it shows. He cuts to the chase with the story, and has a no-nonsense style that leaves it clutter-free. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly relish stories with ‘fluff’, but every now and then it is nice to come across a story that is clean and sharp with the plot. This is one of those stories.

The heat levels in this book are ferocious and I found it hard to keep a professional tone to this review due to how wrapped up I became. Ray knows just how to draw in an unsuspecting reader, please their mind silly and leave them recreationally sated.

Promo Monday: Kim Faulks' Relcaimed

This week, I'm so excited to welcome Kim Faulks, Australian author like myself, and alround lovely lady! You may remember I have reviewed three books from her Fire and Ice Series. Kim's post today is about the first one in the series, Reclaimed.

Reclaimed is the first in a five part erotic paranormal series titled: Fire and Ice.
Natalie Sommers is an armed bodyguard. She has completed two tours in Afghanistan with the Australian Army and carries five different weapon licenses. To say she is a tough, no-nonsense woman, is an understatement. But underneath the tough exterior that she shows, lies the truth that even she won’t admit, that she is lonely.
So when she is hired to escort the rich and gorgeous Alexander Ash around the dazzling backdrop of Sydney she can’t help but become seduced by his fixation of her.
But it is no accident that Alexander has walked into her life, as he has met her, loved her and fought for her before.
Alexander Ash has sworn he would love her forever, even if it means searching for all eternity…and eternity is a long time for a vampire.
The Fire and Ice Series is a tale of undying passion and love as Natalie is torn between two immortals that hold a secret so deadly that it will tear her world apart.

Check out my reviews of her books here on The Naughty Pages!

Review of Don't Call Me Baby by Elizabeth Black

Having been spoilt with doing reviews of books between 50 and 150 pages recently, I felt momentary panic when I remembered Don’t Call Me Baby is over double the maximum I have done recently. Not one to allow myself to baulk for long, however, I was still eager to get in to this review.

I have heard nothing but praise about Ms Black’s writing, and I’ll freely admit I was hooked from the first page. The leading lady, Catherine, is a lusty woman only interested in men for the pleasures that comes from sex and what she can get from them. Trust issues mean a committed relationship is the last thing on her mind.

The fact that this isn’t set in now, but rather 1983 is quite a refreshing change. It gives the whole story an air all its own, and despite being set three years before I was born, I still get the sense of the era due to Elizabeth’s writing. In fact, I almost get a sense that Catherine is possibly loosely based on the author’s personality, a though I find very enjoyable.

A particular point that I found myself nodding to is the double standard that males can brag about their sexual prowess and conquers without judgement, yet women who do the same are looked upon as “sluts”. It is a sad statement on society, in my opinion but enough of the political statement. Back on topic: the review.

Ms Black builds strong characters and weaves a fascinating plotline that had me drawn in and enjoying the story rather quickly. I recently discussed how some stories need to be kept short and to the point, but others needed lots of “fluff” to add flavour and allow the reader to fully enjoy the story. It can be tricky sometimes to tell which one suits each story, but this is a prime example of a full-flavoured story that ambles on at the perfect pace with the right amount of details to keep readers wanting more; a sign of an excellent seasoned writer.

I thoroughly enjoyed Don’t Call Me Baby and I look forward to reading more by Elizabeth Black in the future.

Special Midweek Promo: The Girl Upstairs by Ray Sostre

For this special midweek promo, I am delighted to welcome Ray Sostre to The Naughty Pages with his new book The Girl Upstairs.

Blurb
Carlos left NYC and his financial analyst job for a simpler life in Pennsylvania. After making all the sacrifices, he gets to know his sexy upstairs neighbor, while dealing with her over-protective brother who is a police officer and an ex-boyfriend.

Excerpt
“I can’t help it. I really love your name.” She looked up, “I really had a great time with you.”
“So did I... Annabella”
He gave a smile, feeling a sudden air of seduction before closing his eyes, letting his mouth find hers.
Bella spoke against his lips, “The way you sound out my name; I don’t mind.”
“I love your name.” He sucked on her bottom lip with tenderness.
He let his hands run over her body, while slipping his tongue inside her mouth. He felt her exhale hard against him, as he felt her hand on his neck, pulling him closer.
His excitement was bursting through his jeans. He pinned her against the door and ran his fingers under her dress. In return, he felt her fingers digging inside his jeans, past his boxer while grabbing on his ass. He felt her grip, she was hungry for him and she pushed him further to her body.
“Is he gone, really gone?”
“Uh-huh! He’s been long gone.” Suddenly she purred seductively, “Take off your pants I want you, Carlos.”
The way she expressed her desire for him made him anxious to be inside her. He stepped back and unbuttoned his jeans, while watching her raise her dress and slipping off her panties.
Once his pants dropped, he moved closer and kissed her hungrily. He felt her hand on his cock, his tip being caressed in her possession. The feeling of her touch was hypnotizing; he gazed into her inviting eyes one last time before taking her in another kiss.
While exchanging kisses, he raised her leg up and felt his cock being pushed inside her folds.
He heard her gasp into his ear, and nuzzled at her neck with sensual kisses. As he pumped her with furious strokes, he felt her hand run across his back. Then once he was able to work out a balance he lifted her up and pinned her against the wall. Every thrust he gave her had her gasping in enthusiasm.
“Harder Carlos... harder!” She gasped, digging her nails into his ass.
Carlos was panting from every thrust. Sweat was building inside his body, but the heat from her was more exciting. She may have been pinned to the door, but she was able to meet his thrust, until he wasn’t able to hold off any longer. His thrusting became aggressive. At the same time, her moans were growing louder. He watched her transfixed expression as he gave one last thrust, pinning himself against her body as he came inside her with hard shivers and panting, causing Bella to climax.
Once spent, they remained, still, on the door, catching their breaths. He looked into her eyes still glazed over from her sexual rapture.
They ravaged each other’s mouths, before he set her down.
“Oh, Carlito,” she pushed a wisp of hair from her face, “that was wonderful.”
“Why don’t you stay for the night?”
“I will, if you can help me off with this dress.”
“I don’t have any spare clothes for you to sleep in.”
“Who said I need to sleep with clothes on?” She gave him her most wicked grin.

Excerpt – Tickled Pink!
It had been a long and boring day at work, tedious meeting following yet more monotonous discussions. I flexed my right hand, rubbing it inattentively, my writing hand painfully cramped from taking reams of minutes. I hadn't even been allowed the luxury of daydreaming, as when there was a break in the meeting, it was my duty to make the coffee, arrange lunches, etc. Such is the life of a Personal Assistant. Not only do you have to act like a Stepford Wife at work, but you have to appear perfect too in order to be considered a "good PA". Sighing heavily I rose from my desk, heading towards the executive washroom.
Running my hands under cold water usually helped to ease the dull ache caused by the day's exertions.
As I ran the cold water over my hands, I glanced sideways at my reflection in the full-length mirror. Grabbing a handful of paper towels, I quickly dried my hands and stood back, smoothing the front of my figure-hugging, black pencil skirt, examining my curvy body. I was happy with my fullness, and it was clear that many of the visiting male clients also admired it, often making comments to my boss about "perks" of the job and the like. I just laughed graciously at their misogyny whilst cursing them quietly in the back of my mind, ever professional, smiling to the last. Swiveling on the balls of my feet, I looked over my shoulder to appraise my rear view whilst also admiring my black patent court stilettos. They were my favorite shoes, always my "go to" shoes when I needed cheering up. I simply loved the way they accentuated the contours of my legs - making them appear longer and leaner. Acknowledging my visage once more, I tucked an unruly red curl behind my right ear, raised my chin and stepped back into the office.
Only my Director - Mark, and two clients were left in the office now and I could hear them laughing their farewells to each other as the men were ushered out of the front door. However, I was not allowed to leave until my Director did. Impatiently checking my watch, I knocked on his office door, “Is there anything else you need for today?” Raising his eyes from his computer screen, Mark flashed his famously winning smile, catching the slight edge to my query. He had this unnerving way of disarming people when he fixed his gaze on them; you would think I would be immune to it by now after all these years of being his ever efficient assistant. Nevertheless, the permanent sparkle in his eyes when he regarded me did not pass by unnoticed; but I was never going to succumb to that ridiculous cliché, whether I desired to feel his strong arms around me or not.
Slipping the files from his desk into his briefcase, he stood and pulled his car keys from his pocket. “Well, I think I’m done for today,” smiling mischievously, he continued. “Do you want me to stay behind and help you lock up?”
I replied quickly, “No, no – I can manage perfectly well,” waving my hand to dismiss his offer. I wanted to get home, and if he stayed around I could guarantee that he would want to talk more work and the pile for tomorrow would stack up higher than it already was. Hurriedly shooing him out, I watched as he jumped into his car and wheel-spun out of the car park. It bemused me how this man could be so successful when he appeared to treat
everything in life with such childish glee. But I suppose that was what made him so appealing - that perpetual excitement - that drive to achieve. Shaking my head I turned back and started my final check around, switching off several computers and office lights. One last sweep satisfied me that all was secure. Pulling my bag onto my shoulder, I made my way to the exit.
Locking the darkened office building, I turned and walked towards my car. It was a warm spring evening with a light breeze blowing in off the sea. As I pondered the frothy waves in the distance, the hairs on the back of my neck rose as unease crept across my skin - a feeling that I was being watched. Nervously checking around me, I quickened my pace to the car, pulling my coat tightly around my body and warily keeping to the safety of the open space in the center of the park. Making it to the car with a sigh of relief, I fumbled with the key, cursing quietly at how my shaking hands were refusing to comply with my wishes. As the keys tumbled through my trembling fingers I yelped with frustration, crouching quickly to retrieve them, but as I stood, I felt a hand clamp over my nose and mouth. Struggling and thrashing in pure instinct, I tried frantically to claw the hand away, scratching with my long fingernails, but an arm now secured tightly around my waist, squeezing me, putting an end to my desperate struggles. Trying to scream I breathed in deeply - realizing in horror and much too late, that it wasn't just a hand; it was a cloth. A cloth soaked in a strong-smelling substance, which I’d just inhaled to the bottom of my lungs. As thoughts scrambled and swirled desperately, the strength drained from my limbs and panic rose in my throat as blackness consumed me, my eyes closing heavily as I collapsed, limp in my assailant's arms.

Promo Monday with Avril Ashton

This week I'm pleased to welcome Avril Ashton to The Naughty Pages to promote her book, Far From the Usual.
Far From the Usual BLURB: He’s her ex’s brother, yet Arden Windham aches to be in Cam Mercer’s arms. The man is rude and obnoxious, his blue eyes cold and unfeeling, but he makes her body melt. Being with ex-con Cam is nowhere in her plans, not if she wants the affection she’s worked so hard to gain from her overbearing father. Still, Cam’s touch is unlike anything she’s ever felt and Arden finds herself having to choose between her wants and her needs.

Cameron Mercer is his family’s black sheep, a man apart. For six months he watched Arden waste her time with his twin and now she’s free, he’s not waiting another minute. He’s on a campaign to get her off the tight rope she’s been walking. There’s a rebel behind that smooth façade and he’s on a mission to set Arden free. Too bad she insists on putting up a fight.

EXCERPT

She fished out her phone while eyeing Cam’s movements in her rearview.

“Hey, Indy.” She greeted her best friend with a long suffering sigh.

“Where are you, bitch?” Indy wasn’t one for small talk. “The pizza is getting cold.”

“I have a flat tire and the rudest man alive is fixing it.”

“Who’s rude?”

“Oh, you’ll never guess. Cam Mercer is here with me in the middle of nowhere, working on my tire. The man is simply unprofessional.”

“Cam Mercer?” Indy’s tone perked up. “Ah, Bad Boy Mercer. I saw him get into a bar brawl with two men and win. All those muscles.” Indy whistled. “He can get it.”

“What?” Arden’s stomach knotted. “You think he’s sexy?” She did not want her friend lusting after the man. He was bad news. Even if he was sexy—which Arden didn’t at all think he was.

“Have you looked at the man? And all that attitude.” Indy sighed. “You just know there’s some deep story behind it.”

Arden didn’t like the direction of the conversation so she changed the topic. “Wipe the drool of your mouth. Don’t forget you’re already spoken for.”

“I happen to be a free as a bird.” Indy refused to admit how she felt about the man she was attempting to have a sex-only relationship with.

“You’re a cold bitch. You love Reno and he loves you, but you insist on fronting.” Arden laughed. “You’re not fooling anyone.”

“Whatever. Shouldn’t you be ogling some rude, bad boy with family issues?”

“What? I’m not ogling that man and besides, it’s tasteless. I was involved with his brother until a week ago.”

“Sounds like a suitable mourning period to me,” Indy said. “You don’t owe Clark anything and I can bet money Bad Boy Mercer knows ways to make you forget about past unpleasantness.”

“Speaking of past unpleasantness. Clark called me this evening. He wants us to come to an understanding. Maybe get back together.”

“Oh, my God!” Indy screeched. “Are you freaking serious?”

“Unfortunately.” Arden moved over to the passenger seat and peered out. Cam was crouched on the muddy ground, doing something that required grunts. Sexy grunts, but she immediately dismissed the ludicrous thought. Bringing her attention back to her phone conversation, she said, “Can you believe him? He breaks up with me, talking about he wants to see other people, and then a week later calls me like nothing happened.”

“That bastard! Are you okay, do you want us to slash his tires or something?” Indy’s voice dropped to a whisper. “You know I have the perfect outfit for it. Remember that black cat-suit zippered to the crotch? Of course, I’ll have to get new heels for the mission. Just tell me when.”

Arden giggled. “Thanks, but no. I just want him to take his own advice, you know? Move the hell on.”

“I can’t tell you why men are idiots, but I can suggest you pick your hurt pride up off the floor, shake it off, and make moves. Preferably on that sexy Cam Mercer.”

Review of The Vampire's Witch by Kiki Howell

Anyone who knows me knows I love vampires and witches so when the opportunity arose to review Ms Howell’s book that has both, I couldn’t resist. From the moment I set eyes on the cover, I was drawn in. Shane Willis is quite the cover artist.
Vampire’s Witch starts strong, mid-dilemma. The explanation fits in smoothly and paints the start of an interesting, intricate background. Ms Howell has an interesting and unique style of writing that is powerfully spell binding and quite enjoyable.
As Isaac tries to revenge the murder of his maker, Drake, and protect the Vampire coven he begins to piece together the night he was turned, with the help of a witch who had been there that night, Winter.
I love the names that Kiki has chosen for her characters; slightly periodical and yet modern, not to mention strong and individual names. A name has power and it is clear that much thought has been given over each of the names for these characters.
The plot is intriguing and the mysteries of Isaac’s past and what is going to happen next kept the pages turning. The attraction between Isaac and Winter is obvious and delicious. Their relationship is easy to enjoy and I wanted to know everything there was to know about them.
Ms Howell weaves a spell binding web that ensnares the mind and lets the reader drift away in to another world. I highly look forward to the next two books in this series!

Promo Mondays-Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time by Pablo Michaels

This week I'm thrilled to have Pablo Michaels promoting his established-published book, Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time, available in print at Amazon, as well as in Kindle format.

Introduction
Glenn Talbot and Billie Blake take a cruise to Alaska from San Francisco and back. Upon departure on the Sun Deck while enjoying cocktails, the server has given them an invitation to a private party after midnight in the Greek Lounge. Their sexy waiter also gives them another invitation at dinner. However Billie feels he is being stalked by a beautiful woman wearing diamonds    who is accompanied by a handsome man. There walking down the hallway after midnight to search for the Greek Lounge.
Excerpt
As the two couple met, Billie faked an awkward smile.
            Glenn said, “Hello.”
The good looking man with the goatee and mustache reciprocated with, “Good evening.”
The woman stared intently at Billie, until they passed.
Further down the hallway, Billie bemoaned, “Gees, I wish she’d stop staring at me. Something is strange about her.”
“I’m beginning to believe a little bit of what you’re saying,” Glenn agreed. “But just let it go. Let’s find this Greek Lounge.”
As they walked Billie whispered, “Maybe this is some kind of joke.”
Glenn opened his mouth to agree, when they spotted an open gate to their right, just below an olive branch. A nude, male statue adorned with only a fig leaf in the groin area, stood like a god from a gay Garden of Eden. A gorgeous, buffed hunk of a real man draped in a toga held the gate open for their entry into the Greek Lounge. He inspected their invitations for the night and allowed them to enter.
“Something’s going to happen here,” Billie whispered secretly.
            “Oh, just be quiet.”
When they entered the lounge, Billie stopped to witness a very sensuous event occurring. Corinthian columns surrounded a circular dance floor, where a surprisingly large group of men danced wildly to disco music, wearing nothing except revealing white Jockey shorts or skimpy togas.
Glenn attempted to make his voice heard above the loud music by shouting in his ear, “Look at those bulges!”
Billie put his hand over his mouth. “Not so loud.”
“What are we going to do?” Glenn asked.
“I wasn’t expecting to see a Jockey short party on this cruise, maybe with blue-haired women but not with all these young bods.”
They approached what appeared to be the God of Reception. He, too, was handsome. An olive branch adorned his head of wavy, brown hair. A skimpy toga revealed a chiseled chest and strong muscular legs. This deity that welcomed visitors to the Greek Lounge addressed both of them, “Hi, I’m Jason. I am here to make your evening with the gods of Olympus a sensuous filled night. Register your room number at the gate to the changing room for anything you may need for playing. You may wear Jockey shorts or complimentary togas. Put your clothes in garment bags. Have a sex-enthralling night in the Greek Lounge with all the Friends of Dorothy. Have fun but play safe.”
Glenn looked at Billie pensively. His partner returned the same look. Something new and different was about to happen.
Glenn hesitantly commented, “I don’t know about this.”
“I’m wearing Jockey shorts, not white, but they’ll do.”
Glenn shook his head and said, “I might look relatively good in a jock strap, but not with the looks of all these gorgeous men. We’re wearing togas. I don’t want you parading around in your Jockey shorts with that bulge between your legs among all these studs.”
They approached the clothes check booth and requested togas. “Thank you.” Billie smiled. The man who gave them their togas was unbelievingly a man beyond anyone’s dream.
“I don’t think I can contain myself, if there are anymore guys like him,” Glenn observed.
“You mean undressed. I don’t know how I’m going to include this in my travelogue.” Billie led the way into the changing room, which was a tent. As they entered the small canopy, small columns about three feet high with torches on top lit the space.
